Well, it does what it says on the label!
Clear, mid-golden pour from the 750 DFH bottle. Capped.
As with Noble Rot original there is a strong element of the grape must and vinous character. Some people are calling this champagne-like (which I can understand), and there is one element of thinnish disappointment that comes with this that I associate with champagne.
The oak cuts in a Chardonnay fashion which I have to be in the mood for, but if I am, and if you are, will probably sit very nicely. Also some buttery chardonnay contradictions too.
Carbonation is good, but the mouthfeel a little light for me. I suppose that helps the drinkability, because the 9% doesn’t slow me down much.
Lace and retention average, lace especially lacking,
Overall very nice. Did EXACTLY what the label said which is good.
The more I drink, the drier it gets, but it’s a good, wine dry.
Tasty.
