Honey-orange body with a lovely, rocky white head which gives some tremendous, sticky lace. A nice film of retention.
Up front the beer is quite sweet for the style which I quite like, but I can see how some people would crave a drier experience. In the end, in the far back end of the palate, the beer does eventually deliver than dry, alcohol bitterness. The aftertaste does the same, which makes the beer drink a couple of notches above the 6%, and bitterness that linger has me questioning my initial experience of initial sweetness.
I don’t think this is necessarily a typical BPA. It seems to hit a bit different with some slightly elevated alcohol, and it definitely starts getting into the BPSA or even Tripel flavor profile without coming with an ABV that is formally higher.
Interesting beer because it punches a little above its weight. Some people might not care for that, but in my experience that is a trait of Malheur beers, so in one way I am not surprised.
