Described as a “Sour Brown Ale” 12.7 oz, corked and caged bottle, heavy bottom, the usual Allagash packaging.
Strange pinkish hue on the pour. Settles with the head killed and a light brown body.
Obviously I was expecting a Sour Brown, but honestly it was more acidic than I was anticipating. Flemish Sour Brown feels a little less aggressive than this actually is, and ethanoic acid is the final feeling
A little more harsh than I really wanted.
Ethanoic acid notes are extremely strong and give both a nasal clearance and a nasty acidic lingering burn on the back end.
The sourness evens out a bit over the beer to become a little more green apple tartness, but honestly not much!
Pure acid is the final memory here and I think this needs time. Quite a bit of time!
Bottled August 24th 2015.
