20th Anniversary IPA
3.53 out of 5.00 | Good
22 oz bottle, third in the 20th Anniversary series that I’ve seen (American Saison and Scotch Ale so far for me) – I kind of like the idea of a multiple beers marking of such an occasion.

Mid-amber pour. Looks good. Nice, sticky, rocky head, if small.

Big oniony nose which is no quite repeated the tastes in terms of size, but it is in terms of flavor. Amarillo and two experimental hop varieties that don’t yet have formal names, but rather have serial numbers (EXP-05256 and EXP-07270). Interesting. There is a dry bitterness that pervades the whole beer that, to be honest, isn’t really to my liking, however, the beer is at least genuine and it feels authentic.

A decent malt base holds the whole thing together, but it’s not spectacular. Having said that, I did enjoy it mainly because of its honest simplicity.

Quite dry, and at six percent it at least feels like the regular American IPA that it is – always pleasing for me that the contents of the bottle match the label. Far too often in contemporary America brewing that is not the case.

Filled 09/09/14.
