Little Yeoman Stout

Very good appearance, solid black, but a disappointingly small head. Aromas are chocolate and some burnt malt. Roasted and toasted come to mind. Aromas a reflected in the tastes. Some bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is very nice, with good levels of carbonation and a smooth feeling on the way down. Drinkable, if not spectacular - a nice example.

Little Yeoman Porter

Nicely put together package. Somewhat murky brown appearance, but a nice head, good nose and initial tastes, and a perfect level of carbonation combine to make this Porter a very drinkable example. Some chocolate in there, but mainly dark malts that make the beer sweet enough to be noticed, but not so much that it takes over the brew. A bitter sweet balance is struck. Mouthfeel is nice, and a satisfying finish completes the deal.
