So I've been eying this 750 mL bottle in the store for some time and assumed (from afar) that it would be a Belgian IPA (considering the name), but was a little surprised to see it in the BA db as simply a BSPA. Additionally it was reviewed in this months BA magazine and was given the moniker 'Belgian Strong Golden Ale'! Seems like the beer has a identity crisis. A Dutch Tripel? I have my doubts, let's see... $3.95 for the 11.2 oz bottle form Green's on Ponce, Atlanta, GA, USA. Nasty looking pour - dirty brown Dubbel appearance. Looks like dirty, ditch/dish water. Head is short lived and no lace in the Duvel tulip. Looks drab. Big sweet Belgian candy notes and a touch of yeast complete the nose.
