Final 12 oz bottle of the sixes. On the whole I have enjoyed this, but I’m afraid it’s not quite as simple as that!
There is a very slight haze to the beer but it is is largely clear which makes me think that it is filtered. Is that an issue? Well, is this a hopped up Belgian Wit? If so, then it should not be filtered, right? You see, this is the nonsense that comes with making up new styles.
Head is short lived, white and leads to some decent lace.
Nose is of course, overtly hoppy. What I was expecting and no more.
Tastes reflect the nose with a clean bitterness, bug the hooping is sufficiently high to make this drink like nothing more more than a gigantic, dry-hopped, and fairly green IPA. Any hints of the Belgian Wit influence underneath all of this is largely lost. The finish and aftertaste bring a very unexpected blast of fruity sweetness. Strange.
Not sure I see the point of this. Meh.
Best before 02/19/14.
