A bit of a weak looking pour with a pale gold, hazy body sitting below a below average head. Not much retention or lace.
Nose has a very strong apricot note for me, with some mild funkiness. The apricot nose comes through a little in the tastes too. Some tartness in the back end as well. Finishes with a slight, hop bitterness.
The apricot was quite a surprise here and it wasn’t just my imagination. It was so strong as it warmed that it reminded me of (the recently axed) Magic Hat #9. However, the beer is just too lacking in any presence for me. I need a Wit that delivers more alcohol and a bit more punch. This really does neither. A little too thin, a little too lacking in depth.
As a one off I’m not too disappointed, but I won’t be back.
