Copper pour, quite noticeably so. Very dark for the style. The honey influence?
Floral notes with a bitter, astringent grapefruit note that attacks. Some sweet and sour notes and a touch of green leafiness too. Has a touch of wet hop about it.
Seems old school Stone to me with a nod to aggression, bitterness and a classic hop bombardment.
Best Stone beer that I’ve had in a while but that might be simply because I was craving some hops. Difficult to tell.
Dark, dank, deep sweet honey notes and it’s ripe. Alcohol is there, but it feels old skool Stone to me. Well put together, the beer avoids any significant influence from the avocado flower honey and sticks strictly to the city element of the name.
Good, might buy another bottle.
22 oz, August 2016 release.
