Typical high gravity malt liquor in some ways, but surprisingly smooth in others.
I was expecting to open this can and be confronted with the syrupy, alcohol sweet slickness that usually accompanies this kind of brew. I was pleasantly surprised. Sure there were some of those characteristics present, but nothing like the close to “undrinkableness” of stuff like Tennent’s Super and other such chemicals.
The taste reminded me very much a commercially produced, high alcohol cider – very sweet and lots of alcohol. Not too thick in the mouth and in a strange way, quite drinkable.

I have been drinking this wonderful tasting beer for many years, Used to drink a lot of whiskeys years ago but for the last 10 or 12 years have been a very devoted Steel Reserve admirer, These last couple of years I usually go through a great tasting 12 pack a day, Since my very first taste of the 211 I have loved the taste!
You are clearly one of the great connoisseurs of our time, and 84 cans of SR a week is truly a great accomplishment. Well done, carry on!
