Described as an Unfiltered Amber Beer this is really a fruity saison. The pour is far more golden in color than ‘amber’ might suggest. A nice head, retention average. The beer is lively and well-carbonated.
Tastes offer a lovely malt balance with plenty of sweetness and some very light toffee and caramel notes. It finishes quite sweet as well. The beer is surprisingly fruity, and the sweetness and light bitter balance make the whole package very satisfying. The fruit is a generic estery note and doesn’t ever get especially strong, but it does persist and ends up being the main feature of the beer.
Alcohol is nicely present and does the job gently but with a purpose.
Great little package, and just like FIVE and NINE, hugely enjoyable.
