When I say this is a standard German Pils, you should not take that as any kind of negative comment. You should also note that the color of the beer is a little, ‘less than standard’. Light yellow of course, but there’s a gentle, murky haze hanging around it. I prefer something with greater clarity in the style. Head is modest, but lace is sticky and above average.

Nose has light hops amongst the grains. Same in the initial tastes as expected, and the finish is Noble and dry as we would want and expect.

Standard light spice, with requisite bitterness and a drying finish. The beer has a larger mouthfeel and presence than some in the style. These attributes, when take together makes Scnönramer Pils simultaneously stylistically correct and a slight outlier in the genre. Light citrus hangs around a bit in the mid-palate and finish, but it’s the zest, not the fruit. Nice

A flavorful beer and one that packs a punch, not so much from the alcohol but because the beer has depth and presence.
