Mid orange pour with a bit of a disappointing head and lack of lace.

Nose offers a light mandarin citrus note.

It’s a light grapefruit tasting beer with a simple taste profile. The carbonation is consistent, and in parts quite prickly. The body feels slightly light to me, and any floral notes claimed by the hop addition are pretty light on my palate.

I dunno, I understand what’s going on here, but to me I see no point in tinkering with a classic. Just seems a tad unnecessary and sort of pointless. Belgian IPA overwhelms any lingering Saison character and the beer becomes NOT Saison Dupont. OK, fair enough it ISN’T supposed to be Saison Dupont, but I bet they didn’t want to get as far away as this does.

Grapefruit builds a lot and I don’t dislike it, I just feel like there is a very large disconnect between it and the original. Maybe that’s the point, maybe it isn’t, but either way it left me feeling cold.
