Always excited to get into a large format Boulevard beer, and the thought of an Imperial Pilsner heightens that a bit.
Corked & caged.
Wispy head, with zero retention and lace. That’s a bit of a disspointment TBH,
Pilsner malts on nose. Saaz bitterness present but dulled by ABV. Extra alcohol adds viscosity and sweetness which I like, but the beer gets a little flabby given that the word Pilsner is on the label. I suppose this is somewhat inevitable given the style, but it takes a little way from the beer if I’m honest.
Would have absolutely loved this if the edges were a little cleaner, as it is it’s still a lovely beer that I would come back to, not just quite the beer tha it could have been.
