Personally, this doesn’t feel like a “sour” beer, not even in the Kettle Sour scheme of things, but when I think about it I’ve shunned the fake sour crowd for so long that I probably wouldn’t know such a thing if it bit me in the ass. Either way, this doesn’t drink like any kind of authentic sour beer.
Pour is a pinkish head on top of the odd, flesh colored body. In various types of light, the beer could be described as light amber all the way through to strawberry blonde.
Nose certainly gives up a good dose of fruit, and raspberry is up front. There’s almost zero tartness here at all, and the warmer it gets and the more the palate adjusts it simply feels like a fruit infused beer. It’s not a bad one per se, but to call this sour on any scale seems less than accurate to me. Maybe a touch of sherbet-like acidity in the far back end but really there’s not much. Alcohol is nowhere to be seen and I was amazed at the advertised 6.7%
Drinkable for what it is, but the fruit is pretty shallow and the 16 oz can that I shared, is more than I really need. Would I drink it again? Likely not, I certainly wouldn’t buy it ever again.
