64 oz growler courtesy of John Rybicki, brewer.
Nice looking black pour with a few brownish/red highlights. Head is modest and leaves no lace. Small collar and thin film are retained.
This is a very nice beer. Simple is the key. Some nice chocolate malts and a very smooth and easy drinking experience.
Light, without the hop bitterness of a typical American Porter, but also not as dense and creamy as some English versions of the style. A little bit of a hybrid.
A touch of acidity and a touch of bitterness in the back end, but it smooths out considerably to give a really satisfying feel. Malts dominate and the beer drinks extremely easily. Back end has some bakers chocolate or cocoa that is slightly drying – nice.
