Everything about this beer says authentic.

The light vinegar tartness with the sweet and sour combo, through to the slightly prickly carbonation, and on to the ABV and the drinkability. Each remind me of the best Flanders Reds.

I’m tempted to go as far as to say that we are getting into genuine, Rodenbach territory, but that’s pointless, however, to have me even considering such a thing and thinking such a thing pretty much says it all. Blind tasting I’m not sure that I’d be able to tells this apart from the greatest beers in the style a masterful presentation of a classic style from an unlikely source.

Westbrook continues to impress more often that it disappoints. Generally high quality is the watchword with them, and this beer does nothing to detract from their burgeoning reputation.

Aged for 2.5 years and bottled 11/04/13.
