Matt’s Burning Rosids (Imperial Cherrywood Smoked Saison)
4.03 out of 5.00 | Very Good

One of the more interesting and tasty beers from Stone in quite some time.

Beautifully golden body with great clarity and some nice carbonation. The head is a little weak and is a touch to nitro creamy for my liking, but with beers of this ABV I tend to overlook these things somewhat.

Nose offers quite a lot of fruit but somewhat surprisingly no smoke or much alcohol. Interesting.

There’s also a lot of sweetness and fruit up front in the beer. The smoke cut across the back end a bit, but it too comes with tht sweet smokiness that one might associate with a BBQ. A tiny lingering bitterness from the smoke in the aftertaste.

Saison? Well I don’t think so, but this has the air of an imperial lager of some description.
