La Grave
Tripel
4.50 out of 5.00 | Excellent

375 mL corked and caged. GREAT to find a new, American beer that I might give a shit about, and that’s not in a can, and in an traditional style. Hooray for Tröegs! Not surprised that it’s taken a old-school brewer to pull us back toward normality.

Great, golden pour as one would expect. Nice, clean alcohol and champagne notes in the nose and the tastes. Dry finish, pepper and strong ester alcohol right through the beer. Very well-carbonated, the beer feels lively and bright. The front end palate sweet fruits are perfectly balanced with the mid to late palate drier alcohol based tastes, and the beer rounds out with a creamier than expected finish, and a zingy flourish. Style, nailed.

Just about everything you could ask for in a Tripel style beer here. I knew Tröegs wouldn’t let me down, they are an established brewer with a track-record of solid, traditional styles being well brewed. This was a no-brainer, and I I’m not surprised at how delicious it is. Well done.
