2008 vintage. PL18 on the cork, 04.11.2030 as the best before date.
Deep, dark, purple body with a pink head. The pour and color are a little more ‘vibrant’ than I was expecting and has the appearance of something much less sophisticated. Not much lace, but the hed is a little better retained than I was expecting.
Nose is as expected with some carbonated, sinus clearing tartness.
Tastes are nowhere near as aggressive as one might think. The chery tart notes are quite manageable and do not give much ethanoic acid at all. Some refreshing, fruity acidity that doesn’t build much either. Highly drinkable. toward the end of the beer there is even a hint of sweetness from the fruit! Surprising. the carbonation really keeps this beer alive for me and it works beautifully and as expected.
375 mL bottle.
