This is one of the oddest pours I can ever remember encountering. An deliberately aggressive pour creates what looks like a nice nice head, but this is PURE Coke-like. It recedes in milli-seconds to give an utterly “flat” black body with ZERO lace, retention or even a film or collar. Color is fine.

Nose is some alcohol – quite a lot actually, but also a ton of sugar. Not roast notes.

Tastes are sugar. Just sugar. Nothing else. Maybe a bit of alcohol on top of the sweetness, but this is an absolutely appalling beer. No roast, zero body (a criminally awful mouthfeel for the style), and a sickly sugar infused black liquid. It hardly resembles beer to be honest, rather it feels like a cup of tasteless coffee with a mild acid added, and then some rubbing alcohol put into the mix. Utterly undrinkable.

Not that surprised TBH, since I’ve seen this in other Komes/Fortuna beers, but this was much worse than even the low expectations those earlier beer brought. I can’t remember the last time I had something as terrible as this.
