Nothing I’ve had from this brewery has been much good, but I’ll ty anything once.
Pour has good color, but the head that you see in the picture is very deceptive. This is not a beer that has any retention of the head, or any lace, and the carbonation is essentially ALL thin, side-like in its application. Disappointing. It’s especially disappointing given that in my porters of any description I like creaminess, depth, body and presence. This has none of those attributes. Settles to a still, lifeless millpond.
Smell gives up a strong raspberry syrup note, which if I was looking for a syrup would be OK. As it is it seems out of place, even if you’re OK with the idea of this beer.
Oooofff, this is quite bad. Thin, artificial raspberry, zero depth and a light alcohol burn. This is not porter-like in any way, and the fruit angle is harsh and artificial. The opposite of what I consider a porter to be, regardless of any fruit element. Drain pour after 8 oz.
