Kasteel Winter

I believe that this beer is now retired since it became Kasteel Donker. Not sure about that, though.

A lot of anticipation here, this find of thing looks like it might be right up my alley. A sweet, Belgian Dark/Quad with a lot of sugar.

Oddly, the chocolate is HUGE and spices lower – a shame. Not really what I was looking for at all.

Dark, Dubbel brown, Initial creamy head is good, but it fades quickly. That’s OK given the ABV.

Chocolate is ridiculously strong, and I’m sorry, but that’s not what I came for, I wanted winter spiced, high ABV alcohol – though this not it.

It doesn’t really have the sweetness I was looking for and the spice is basically not existent in the grand scheme of things. Drinks well, the ABV is not incredibly present given the ABV.
