Imperial Red 2012 (Beer Camp #65)
4.15 out of 5.00 | Very Good

Last one from the beer camp 65 pack.

Pour is a very good looking mid-to–dark amber. Head is very good, and the retention and lace both excellent.

Nose offers some big, and quite grren hops.

The tastes do what a class American Red would be expected to do, in as much the hop nose is replicated in the tastes, and it stands against a solid, malt backbone.

Quite sharp and crisp, the beer is big and offers a significant assault on the tongue. It’s not necessarily my favorite style, but this feels authentic and stylistically correct – good.

Even a light burn on the way down, alcohol is brisk and presnt.

After taste lingers in a green hop manner.

Quite big and aggressive, but it all feels organized and in check. It’s big, but it says it is and it’s well within such parameters. Very solid.

Pretty much a classic in the style, and a very solid offering as part of the mixed 12 pack.
