Great clarity on the golden pour with a nice head. Little lace, not much retention and a thin collar left. Well-carbonated.
Nose is quite extraordinary. Earthy manure/farm/grass/fermented hay – a real sweet, pungent aroma, and in a good way!
Tastes reflect some of the nose but are cleaner. Some apple, a drying alcohol back-end and some low bitterness in the mid-palate. Quite dry. Has a significant vinous, white grape character and that’s the abiding memory here. Finish is increasing dry but really nice. Increasingly bitter aftertaste too, but the whole package is beautifully rounded and complete.
Very impressed. This seems delicate and punchy at the same time. A beer with a real presence and something that makes one pay attention. It feels sophisticated.
This is a bottle marked as BB: 06/2025, so who knows about the original intention, but it was still absolutely delicious.
