Hubertus Bock

Flip top, 500 mL bottle. Modest pop on opening.

Lovely golden clarity with a thinning, white head theat only leaves the most scant, Lacey head. A few bubbles of lace but not much.

Malty nose of course, but with a drying, cracjker like edge that seems slightly surprising.

Very malt heavy (obviously) with a drier than average finish for the style. Almost a slightly Pils like ending with some decent and surprising bitterness.

The kind of substantial, old school German beer that they do so well, even if this one leaves me with a touch more to think about than I was expecting.

I believe that Maibocks which this seems to most closely resemble, are generally underrated. Many won’t appreciate this beers elegance and beauty.
