330 mL bottle, Belgian Style Ales. New one for me. Best Before End 08/13/27.
Deep golden pour but oddly very little pop on opening. The head is OK and retention and lace alright, but the lack of carbonation when the bottle opened had me thinking there might be a problem. Carbonation is definitely NOT high in the mouth. Lacks a little presence.
A little grainy in the nose with some expected residual sweetness.
It feels a little dry for a Tripel and there is a slightly odd, vegetal note in the back-end as it warms. Some warming alcohol but not very strong and it drinks under 9 % TBH. Little bit of plastic phenol in there as well. Rather odd. Yeasty esters but still with a strange aftertaste.
Well within style parameters but there are ton of better examples in the stlye so no need to go here if better examples are accessible to you.
