Hacker Pschorr
Oktoberfest Märzen

I must have drunk this a million time before writing these notes in August of 2023.

Classic copper colored amber body underneath a high white head, with great lace and some decent retention. Malt and bread nose as one would expect.

Lovely rich sweetness sits against the faintest of light bitter backdrops. Absolutely ‘gulpable’ in huge gobs. Difficult to put down. There’s almost a sweet and sour feel to beer that comes from the prefect balancing of the malt and hop elements. Never, ever competing, always complementing. A style perfectly presented.

Drinkability is off the charts for me, perhaps the single most quaffable of all of the German Märzens, and that’s saying a LOT! The beer is incredibly smooth and offers a refreshing, sweet, toasty palate that sits beautifully against the soft carbonation in the mouth. Classic stuff in the style.

I love this beer, always have.
