Unfiltered with green hops (as per the brewery website, We use only freshly harvested hops for our green hop pilsner. This ensures an intense aroma profile that varies from harvest to harvest. Because the beer is unfiltered, it has a fuller body and is even more aromatic than our classic pilsner), this is a German version of a fresh hopped beer that eschews the IPA style, and sits exactly where it should for a German beer.
Perfect head. Plenty of lace, that is sticky and persistent. Excellent looking. Clouded pour which is a bit of a surprise for a genuine, German Pils, but less so given some of the other beers from the same brewery and that this is advertised as unfiltered.
Nice hoppy bitterness on the tastes and nose. Orange-based citrus kicks-in and bites too. The orange is all pith and zest. The beer offers a lovely sweet and bitter combo. Lots of bready sweetness here, melded very nicely with that classic, biting edge. Delicious.
A little bit of an odd-ball for a Pils with the green edge and unfiltered approach, but it works.
