Great Lakes
Lemon Hefeweizen

12oz can.

Well I wasn’t expecting much, and expectations were mostly met.

Decent looking pour with a high, white head. The head is one of those very wispy ones that is relatively soon gone, but does leave some decent, sticky lace even if it is somewhat thin.

Smell is a honey-lemon, a bit like a cough syrup that you might have. Not all that unpleasant.

Tastes are obviously artificial lemon, but sharper and cleaner than the nose. There’s basically nothing else there other than a mid-sharp lemon, and IF you are looking for a lemon flavored beer (not sure what you would, but …) then this is it! There’s basically zero Hefe character in terms of banana or clove or any depth, simply because the lemon bathroom cleaner element. In the end it’s actually quite sweet.

I mean, I suppose if you want a feociously lemony, sweetish beverage this would be great, quite what it has to do with a Hefeweizen I have absolutely no idea. In fact it has nothing to do with such a thing. I’d say this was an American Wheat or even an American Pale Ale with lemon.
