Fantôme TripelB
4.67 out of 5.00 | Excellent

Usual Fantôme presentation with a big pop on opening. Brewed in association with the folk at TripelB, Belgian Beer bar in Worcester, England.

Lovely pour with a standard golden, clear body and a nice head. The head is quite rocky and broken, but gives some craggy lace and a spotty film. Some stickiness around it – all good!

Some high, prickly carbonation that really adds to the lively nature of this beer. It feels vibrant.

The nose is bright, sweet hops with some acidic notes underlying the whole thing.

Tastes are are a sweet and sour sharp bitterness, with plenty of light puckering grapefruit. This is not sour by any stretch, but if one were to take a breakfast grapefruit half, and add some fine sugar, then we would have a decent replication of Fantôme TripelB. There are plenty of hoppy burps produced, and this is a function of the excellent, lively carbonation.

Balanced bitterness complements the fruity nature of the beer to give a tremendously interesting and tasty beer. A lot of complex bitterness held together with a bright body.

The beer is very vibrant and offers a great deal of excitement.
