Classic Fantôme bitterness, wrapped up in some residual sweetness.
Pour is a lovely golden color with a HUGE, well-formed head. Lace is sticky and classical. Yep, this is a beautiful looking beer.
Herbal notes on the nose that surprisingly do not really manifest themselves in the tastes. That’s unusual for Dany. This is an unusually hoppy beer with some lovely sweetness in the background, The carbonation is quite high, the combination inducing some nice hoppy burps. A great sign. Sweet hops run through the middle of the beer, and the carbonation produces a prickly back drop that is both stimulating and welcome.
The bitterness builds as one would expect, and it burns (appropriately) in the back end.
The final pour creates an ice-cream like head and a little more of the herbal note that the nose initially promised.
Classic, classic Dany, and in that respect, Bravo! Delicious, as anticipated and a lovely example of the phenomenon that is Fantôme.
