lot 19 02 22. Best Before End 2026.
Golden, lightly hazed body underneath a broken, wispy head that has some light lace and a little retention.
Floral hop bitterness in the nose.
The tastes follow the tastes initially, and then breakout with some more elderflower or dandelion bitterness. Very clean. Grainy and light. Gentle bitterness is cumulative but manageable. This beer feels young and fresh even though at this stage I think it’s almost two years old. As in warms the bitterness backs off a bit and it becomes more ‘sweetened grapefruit’ for me.
It’s a grassy, lightly herbal, peppery and coriander/cilantro base, so what I’m saying is typically Fantôme, typically Dany.
There’s a light, drinkable element to this beer but at the same time it has a true Fantôme presence. In no way is this anything but a tremendous example of Fantôme; the kind of beer you could present as a typical beer for the eccentric phenomenon that is Dany and FANTÔME..
