Labeled as a “Hoppy Golden Ale” – yes, yes it is!
Damn! De Rankę know how to make these highly hopped, beautifully balanced beers. I’m not remotely surprised, just simply stating a fact.
Hazed orange body, magnificent head and unparalleled foamy head with amazing retention and lacing.
Nose offers exactly what one would expect. It’s absolutely NOT a overlapped nose with any astringency, in fact it is really rather sweet. Hoppy elements of course, but it has such an amazing light touch.
That same gentle approach is replicated in the tastes, even if the tastes are much, much larger than the nose. The hops offer a gentle sting against he backdrop of the malt. They linger gently on the tongue, but are sharp and absolutely deliberate. There’s plenty of dry bite on the back outer extremities of the tongue. Linger it does, as it should. Bitter as bitter does, but perfectly balanced. Delightful.
