Crianza
4.17 out of 5.00 | Very Good

Bottled 02 OCT 25, BB 02 OCT 30. Exactly one year old.

Light amber body with a head that is consistent with the excellent carbonation that comes with virtually all De La Senne beers, but that paradoxically also seems more than one might expect from the style. Soon enough the head is gone, and it creates an experience that perhaps is a closer reflection of what one might expect form a Flanders Red.

The nose give a little ethanoic acid sinus cleansing note, but this is a very fruity beer in terms of the taste. The tastes back off the initial large fruit a bit, and we get a truer to style beer.

Very mild acidity kicks in and then builds, but it still feels very fruit forward. Finish isn’t as dry as it might be, and the beer delivers a serious sweet and sour note. In the end, that’s the take away. Very light balsamic notes, but this is in no way a particularly tart beer. Very tempered. Standard light wood and some sour cherry notes.

It’s a lovely beer that drinks easily and would make a good intro beer for someone that was interested in branching out. De La Senne is involved in so many wonderful beers, so skilled and so beautifully made.
