Good looking beer, if predictable, it offers a nice hue in the body and a lightly pink head. The body is bright red with some brown highlights. In strong light it’s very, scarlet. Nice lace.
Fruity nose without being too strong or too specifically raspberry in nature.
The mouthfeel is full, and true to the base beer. Nice levels of carbonation make this feel very lively and bright.
The tastes offer a full range of raspberry throughput each mouthful. There’s, at various points, raspberry sweetness, a more tangy, sharp raspberry, and then an almost sour back-end and finish. It does it all. Alcohol is very well-hidden by the fruit.
The raspberry feels a bit cordial like, there’s really no denying that, but this isn’t a beer that is in competition with true lambics or other sour beers. Take it for what it is and you’ll likely be quite happy. Look for an authentic. raspberry lambic of some description and of course you’ll be disappointed. It is what it is, for the genre it’s trying to fill it does well. Outside of that, not so much.
