Pour is excellent (as expected), with the classic de la Senne high carbonation and great head in effect. De la Senne’s carbonation across all styles really is a real calling card, and a thing to behold. Lacing is great. Black pour that has some tremendous red highlights in the right light,

I’m always looking for a cheesy note on the nose in a Brett based Porter, and this one delivers.

This is drier in the back-end than some in the style, and even considering the Brett element it goes quite a bit further than I would expect. Don’t get me wrong, the tastes here are almost perfect, with some blue cheese mingling with the light, roasted bitterness and creamy mouthfeel, but the dry ending definitely there and noticeable, and it gets a touch powdery in the final mouthfeel.

Outside of that one complaint, this is very true to style. Plenty of cheese all over the place, and a light acidic note permeates  the whole beer as one would expect. Delicious and well within the style boundaries.

Nothing but pretty much exactly what the label says here, despite the drier finish, so I’m happy – you should be too.
