Quintessence 2025 Blend. BB 03APR 30.
Light copper body with a smallish off-white head, some lace. Average retention.
Nose is that of dryish grape skins. A touch of tartness in the first sips, but it’s modest, and it is also accompanied by plenty of drying fruit. The sour element is very restrained, and the beer is very light on its feet. Very drinkable and light in the mouth. There’s a definite lemon and grapefruit feel about the beer with some really clean edges and well-defined lines.
Reminds me of a dry, English cider, with some apple notes amongst the lemon. Drinkable and both refreshing and easy. Alcohol well-hidden but present.
Simple, well-constructed and very nice, but with the way things have built up lately in terms of tariffs, plus the problems with importing etc., this is difficult to justify $10 for. Came from a recent trip to Atlanta and Total Wine, not the greatest value.
