Belgian Wheat

Can offers what I would consider an under-carbonated affair. Pale, clouded orange body with a head that’s a little disappointing. Seems like this beer has some variance in ABV, this is at 5.1 as per the label.

Nose is OK, but not strong. Offers some orange.

Tastes are stronger than the nose might have suggested. Good orange notes, a touch of spice (not much) but sufficient for me to know that it is there. The body is slightly lacking for me, I was hoping for a little more presence. Still it’s an acceptable, if unspectacular, Wit. As the beer builds it gets quite sweet. Not really an attribute that I’m seeking in the style, but I suppose its OK.

Not bad but not as strong as might have been. Nearer/at the source and on-tap I’d definitely re-visit this beer; in a can away from the source, likely not.

After a really strong start by Ardennes I’ve now had a couple that I’ve been less impressed by. Might be a brewery that requires a slightly more selective approach to.
