A Tavour beer.
Murky, hazy pour, TBH a bit disappointing. Poorly retained head – also a little disappointing.
Nose is better than the appearance promised. Good biscuity malts that fit the bill.
Tastes follow-up with the same, but the beer is a touch thin for me, especially in the context of the style. Having said that, Altbiers can be tricky because they can play mind trick where the color tends to make one think that more body should be present. It always feels like their chestnut hues should promise more depth on the mouthfeel, but even when true to style they never really deliver a big presence. On the plus side that makes for some easy drinking.
Well balanced and nicely put together, this doesn’t pull up any tress but it hits the spot stylistically and with simplicity.
Love an Alt, this one is at least that, if not a favorite of mine.
