All Day IPA Session Ale
1.97 out of 5.00 | Drain Pour

Errr … no it’s NOT! @sessionbeer. Pour is a semi-dark golden one with a very small head and little retention or lace.

Nose is unsurprisingly hoppy, but it has the whiff of slightly manufactured, hop pellet aroma. Very sharp on the nose, and not very subtle.

The bitter is really quite bitter, but it lack the body to hold the bitterness together. There is a large grapefruit element for me, and it reminds me a LOT of a diluted, Sweetwater IPA. The hoppy nature of the tastes are more authentic than the nose initially suggested to me, and it feels a bit less artificial than the initial aroma suggested.

All the way through it seems like the intensity of flavor is not supported properly. I think what has happened here is that Founders has probably said, OK, we need to get depth of flavor in this low ABV and we’ll  do it with these harsh hops. That’s not how you meld low ABV’s with flavor, it takes more skill than that.

This seems a little like hop pellet infused water, and it’s bitter and watery at the same time. Awful.
