2025 release. See the 2020 release notes here.
I like this marginally more than the 2020 version, but it still feels relatively light, and quite thin especially when considering the style. The beer does deliver a bit more alcohol than the 2020 version did for me, but this may be a function of their relative ages and mine!
In the 2025 version the coriander seems a touch more prevalent which is odd because I thought that would make me enjoy this a little less. Like my earlier notes on the beer, I still feel this is a bit lightweight. Somehow it just doesn’t quite deliver as one would expect. The beer should pack a bigger punch both in terms of its body, its alcohol, and ultimately its presence, but it comes up a couple of notches short. Once again it’s not a bad beer at all, just something that I thought would hit harder. The lightness adds to the drinkability for sure, and God knows I’m a huge proponent of smaller beers, but I was expecting a lot more here. The Scotch Ale malt component seems far to superficial, especially when one considers the ABV.
Happy to have had another chance, but ultimately this hits (or more accurately, doesn’t) as it did previously. Third time lucky?
